I could go to the art gallery near the landscape paintings and drawings and record the things I hear people say about the artists or their works, personal preferences or opinions. I can also go to the museum of nature and record the same things, except what they have to say about the things they see. (Perhaps get some interesting insights)

My target customer are people in the community such has new comers new to Canada also those in the community who are in need for either a computer repair since maybe it might need to get upgraded or boosted. Those with youth child and adults. Since those are the one’s who mostly use there computer system.

Some places I would go with is in the churches, concerts and other related events where people would and would need the business cards. That will also help them has well. Going to business networking events has well has helped me a lot where you can connect with different people who different businesses and how there one business has well. Since a lot of people have different computer systems and need it to either to be repaired and need to be fixed. Some of the client’s don’t have a lot of good knowledge about there computer they would want to learn about that service.

The best way to observe this activity is seeing if the different places where I do my advertising and marketing it will help a lot. The different connections has well have helped me a lot, If I didn’t have connections that I will struggle and have a hard time to start and to get customers and clients.

Very briefly if lucky, a customer is looking for their first guitar at a music store, and asks about music lessons as well.
I feel that looking for guitar lessons/having guitar lessons usually takes place in a private place. E.g. first place most people go is on the web and googling guitar lessons.
Accessing something like a free group lesson for beginners and seeing how others react to being taught the service for the first time.

I think the best way would be to ask of others’ experiences in getting their first guitar lessons and how it is going so far. I can also recall my own experience of looking for guitar lessons for the first time and the whole process behind it.

My target customer is a young female that wants to or already is an activist, even if they don’t typically use that word to describe their work. They have tendencies of overgiving or overwork or simply care so much for their cause that their view of their self’s needs, slowly go downhill. They feel frustrated in some way.

Banyan books in Vancouver would be good. They have a great selection of card decks. Otherwise perhaps a group working with group works? I could also invite a friend to look at tarot with me that is an activist. For example, seeing how Alex Kuhn took in the cards at the beach the other day was very interesting. I think this would be the most accessible way.

To use the cards with them and take mental notes. Later, write them down. I may not get as many observations as I want…. looks like I could also go to ‘triple rays new age store’ and ‘triple spiral metaphysical gifts’

This is challenging being an online-based business that often does not require a storefront where I could observe the customers. I may have better searching through online platforms to find my target customer interacting with similar services.

Looking through the social platforms of similar online business may give insight to my target market.

18-39 Artists, entertainers, performers who love in metropolitan cities. Work part time jobs and are looking for resources that will help them establish more means of income and allow them to self-manage their careers.

Females in the age range of 20-60. A diverse mix of those who are financially independent and financially dependent on their partners or families, but regardless, they have the access to money which they use to spend on themselves.

Retail outlets that sell similar products and services like mine (clothing stores, home decor stores, jewelry stores) to get an idea of what they are like and what they value in a business and product.

Attend social events where this target customer is likely to be, to learn about how they act with others, what they talk about, and how they present themselves.

First to observe them without engaging with them directly. Secondly it would be to talk with them to hear their stories about who they are, what they value, what they want in life – all to understand their different needs.

A younger demographic, typically between the ages of 20 and 45, who represent 32% of our nation’s total population, predominantly female, or any gender who appreciates creative/stylish/eco-friendly home decor/clothing and values products that are ethically, sustainably and locally made. Buyers would also value products that are handmade, plastic-free, organic, second hand, fair trade, supports newcomers and all natural, to name a few criteria that I will include on my website.

They could be in early-adulthood and in the middle stages of life, either in school or working, middle to high income, living in a home or an apartment, with or without pets, who are interested in sustainability issues/zero waste living/ethical products/community/nature.

They are higher-than-average income earners, and urban dwellers who are very enthusiastic about consumption, especially ethical and sustainable innovation because they have strong values and morals pertaining to ethics and sustainability and favour purchasing products from companies that uphold these same values, willing to pay more. They have significant purchasing power with a stable income and additional funds (above average income) to make a conscious decision to spend mindfully on products of value to them.

Observing in shop and at markets to see their shopping habits, what questions they ask vendors, what they purchase. I would also post questions in groups on Facebook related to sustainability, zero waste living and plastic-free living in Ottawa to ask them:

– what are their favourite places to shop for ethical/sustainable/local/plastic free products like decor, apparel, cosmetics, cleaning products…? How do they know where to find them?
– how to they choose products based on different criteria (plastic free, all natural, local…)
– do they know of any website or blog that helps them search for shops in Ottawa that offer products that fit these criteria?

The ideal customer is the deep thinker and the idealist. My client makes every purchase with thorough consideration to the craftsmanship and integrity of the product. The client is the university student with high ambitions who wants their briefcase for their first internship to be the very same bag their eldest child receives upon graduating high school, or the hip elder who is interested in learning about the process of creating a piece of functional art. The client is environmentally conscious, free thinking, open minded and sees each day’s choices as having long term effects and values.

The age of our target market is between 25-65 years of age. Individuals with buying power and are comfortable in spending the money. However, the primary age target are of ages 25-30 years, young adults who are comfortable yet do not have children and are making purchases for themselves. The secondary target is of ages 50-65 years, individuals whose children have moved out, are employed, are comfortable financially and want to pamper themselves.

Online Market.

Primarily Instagram for more in-depth engagement as a follower. Actively learns about the business, and wants to feel a part of the community and feel more intimately connected to the business owner.

Secondarily Pinterest for discovery of a vast-array of unique and popular goods in a multi-faceted, photographic landscape which is curated by an algorithm. Good for preliminary searches and quick discovery to be followed by more in depth exploration.

Facebook is less popular by is used by my demographic of individuals 45-55. High disposable income, established and are confident in the type of purchase they want to make.

Artisan markets. These can be trade shows, local-supporting retailers and farmer’s markets. This attracts a wide array of clients, primarily 30-45, female, and are intrinsically there to support smaller businesses knowing they will have to pay a higher price point.

Experiment with different pillars of marketing, copywriting and approaches to photos on social media with micro-cost paid ads. This helps to determine what gets the highest engagement, the most shares and ROI on marketing initiatives.

My target customer is folks looking to fundraise for or add another revenue stream to their organization, school group, nonprofit, or grassroots cause. My target customer has an audience of their own to whom they will sell merchandise in order to raise funds for their cause. My target customer is too busy to set up or organize a web store on their own, and will ask for our help with design, production, promotion, and/or order fulfillment depending on their individual needs.

Physically, not that many places, but online there are plenty. Folks are often peddling tee spring or other direct to garment drop shipping places. My observational research plan was to closely interact with people struggling to maintain positive well-being and those who need support and guidance on their journey. When determining where to conduct my research, I figured that mental health agencies would be an optimal place to observe the specific challenges people are facing in their journey and with their wellness needs. With that, I become employed at a mental health agency and worked as a peer support worker for individuals with various mental health diagnoses. The mental health agency used holistic methods as treatments for the client, and my role included using holistic methods to provide support and guidance for the challenges that they were struggling with.

Through my employment, I was able to work closely with my target audience and ask questions that provided much insight into the core root of the challenges in their personal and professional growth. One of the services I was expected of me was to provide weekly 1:1 support to evaluate my client’s growth based on the solutions I provided them and asked them to use to utilize. This was very insightful because it provided me with the opportunity to see what worked from what did not work and also provided me with the opportunity to further investigate why the solutions did not work and create other solutions that could help the person.

During my employment, I was also expected to develop, coordinate, and conduct a support group for people struggling with addiction challenges. This provided me with the perfect opportunity to research the effectiveness of the eight dimensions of wellness.

Aside from my primary target audience, I was provided with the opportunity to work closely with agencies and do outreach community engagements.
